ALESANDRO LJUBICIC
Born 1986
My new works explore the relationship between nature and the global climate crisis we face today. By incorporating thick oil paint and collage techniques, I seek to convey the urgency and complexity of this issue.
Using flowers as my primary subject matter, I aim to symbolise the fragile beauty of nature amidst the challenges it currently faces. The thick oil paint serves as a metaphor for the heavy burden placed upon our environment, resulting from human activities and climate change.
Through the use of collage, I introduce linen and oil into the composition, representing the intersection of nature and human influence. This juxtaposition prompts viewers to reflect on the ways in which we are interconnected with our environment and how our actions impact it.
I intend for my artwork to provoke a sense of contemplation and inspire a call to action. By emphasising the importance of preserving and protecting our natural world, I hope to raise awareness and highlight the urgency of addressing the global climate crisis.
Overall, my artistic practice aims to shed light on the delicate balance between nature and human impact, urging viewers to consider their own role in creating a sustainable future. Through the expressive use of materials and subject matter, I encourage viewers to reflect on the consequences of our actions and to actively participate in the preservation of our planet.
