‘Intertwined ‘speaks of fragilities, strengths, dependence, interconnectedness: mirroring the delicate balance reflected in ourselves and nature. The delicate and fragile co-exist with the strong and dependable, highlighting the beauty of our shared vulnerabilities and resilience.
The immediacy and intimacy of working with charcoal takes you on a journey, intuitively searching mark making: delicate, intimate, soft and dramatic. Slowly building layers of depth, tone, light and mood combining delicate and strong marks with softened areas of space and light.
All elements combine to create a unified whole, a harmony and balance of coexisting opposites, both metaphorically and as a visual language.
